to the Nova Scotia Wildlife Carvers and Artists Association. The club was formed in 1989 and was primarily for decorative wildlife carvings and paintings. We were the first carving group in the Maritimes; many of the carvers at that time were ribbon winners at the Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition.  We still have a few members that make the trip to Ocean City and bring back ribbons, but most of us carve for the enjoyment and camaraderie of sharing a common interest. 
 
Carvers of all ages and interests are welcome. Membership includes folks from beginner level to professional.  We offer some courses and all members willingly share what they know.  We promote all styles of carving and although birds are predominating; some of our newer club members are interested in relief carving, caricatures, flowers, folk art, pyrography, Santas, spoons etc.  We host our annual Carving Competition and Show each year where folks display their works.
